Maintenance of wheel loaders in wet environments

2024-02-21

Oxplo is a professional loader manufacturer with many years of manufacturing experience. When we buy wheel loaders, the first thing we should understand is that the loader carries out corresponding maintenance work in different environments and conditions. In hot and humid seasons or regions, wheel loaders may face the following problems.

1. Overheating problem: High temperature and humid environment will increase the working load of wheel loaders, resulting in engine overheating. This can lead to problems such as reduced engine performance, insufficient cooling system to reduce temperature, and thinning of lubricating oil. Overheating can cause the loader to stop and damage components.

2. Lubrication problems: Moisture and moisture in a humid environment may affect the lubrication system of wheel loaders. Moisture may mix with the lubricating oil, resulting in reduced lubrication performance and increased component wear and friction. Moisture may also cause rust and corrosion at the lubrication points.

3. Electrical problems: Wet environment can easily lead to problems in the electrical system of the loader. Moisture and moisture can cause wiring and plugs to rust, corrode, or short circuit. This can lead to problems such as electrical failures and circuit interruptions.

4. Corrosion problems: humid air and salt in a high humidity environment may cause corrosion of the metal parts of the loader. This can affect the structural strength and stability of the machine, resulting in component damage and dysfunction.

Tire problems: Wet and hot roads can lead to increased wear on tires, reducing their grip and life. In addition, a slippery road surface can increase the risk of sliding and skidding, affecting the loader's handling and towing ability.

How should the loader be maintained in the hot and humid season or region?

1. Clean loaders: Clean wheel loaders regularly, especially in wet environments. Clean the external surface of the loader with water and an appropriate cleaner to remove accumulated dust, mud and other dirt. Ensure that cleaning fluid does not enter the electrical or hydraulic system.

2. Check the liquid level: check the level and quality of hydraulic oil, engine and coolant. Make sure the liquid is at the appropriate level and replace or refill the liquid as recommended by the manufacturer. In hot conditions, the liquid may be consumed faster, so check frequently.

3. Maintenance of lubrication system: in hot season. Lubrication system maintenance is particularly important. Make sure the lubrication points are well lubricated and that appropriate lubricants are used. Check the lubrication point for abnormal wear or signs of oil leakage, and repair or replace it in time.

4. Air filter and radiator cleaning: Check and clean the air filter and radiator, in humid environments, these parts may accumulate dust, impurities and moisture. Ensure that the air filter is dry and clean to maintain good engine performance. Clean the heat sink to ensure the proper operation of the heat dissipation system.

5. Check the electrical system: check the connections and lines of the electrical system regularly. Make sure wires and plugs are not damaged or corroded. In hot and humid environments, electrical components are vulnerable to damage, so pay close attention and repair any problems in a timely manner.

6. Tire maintenance: Check tire wear and air pressure. In hot and humid conditions, tires may be more vulnerable to wear and corrosion. Make sure the tire pressure is appropriate and rotate and change the tire as needed.

7. Prevent corrosion: In a humid environment, metal parts are susceptible to corrosion. Use appropriate rust inhibitors and lubricants to protect the metal surface of the loader. Inspect and clean the damp area regularly, and repair and protect it in time.

When we find that the wheel loader may be damaged because of the hot or humid climate, we can refer to the following steps to remedy.

1. Stop using: If you are aware that the loader has been damaged or malfunctioning, you should stop using it immediately, continued use may cause further damage or danger.

2. Park in a cool and dry place: Keep the loader in a cool and dry place to avoid exposure to sunlight or damp environment. This can help prevent further corrosion or damage.

3. Clean and dry: Careful cleaning of the external surface of the loader can remove dust, mud or other impurities that may cause corrosion or damage. Make sure to dry the loader thoroughly, you can use a fan or dryer to speed up the drying process.

4. Inspection and repair: If you have the relevant mechanical or technical knowledge, you can carefully inspect the various parts of the loader to look for any obvious damage or failure. Some common problems may include faulty electrical systems, corroded wires or connectors, etc. If you are not sure how to carry out the inspection or repair, you can seek the help of a professional technician.

5. Maintenance and protective measures: When using the loader in harsh climatic conditions, some maintenance and protective measures can be taken to reduce the risk of damage. This may include regular cleaning and lubrication of mechanical parts, use of waterproof covers or shields, regular inspection and replacement of damaged seals, etc.

6. Seek professional help: If the loader is damaged beyond your scope of repair or expertise, it is recommended to seek the help of an experienced repair technician or dealer. They can provide you with professional diagnosis and repair recommendations.

The above is the oxplo brand to give you some suggestions, I hope it can be helpful for you to use the loader in a humid environment. If you have any questions about the loader, please contact us. We have a professional technical team to provide you with better help.
